As I observe people trying, most of the time incorrectly, it occurred to me that there should be instructions on what to do. There is a danger that if not done properly someone or something could get hurt or broken.<\/span><\/p>\n<p lang=\"es-ES\" style=\"text-align: justify;\" align=\"LEFT\"><span lang=\"en-US\">Actually it is a similar story with removing a cork from a normal bottle of wine, there is a right way and lots of wrong ways!<\/span><\/p>\n<p lang=\"es-ES\" style=\"text-align: justify;\" align=\"LEFT\"><span lang=\"en-US\">Celebrations with <a href=\"https:\/\/markoneill.es\/en\/what-makes-champagne-so-special\">Champagne<\/a> bottles exploding and its contents being sprayed everywhere are for show. Even more impressive is when bottles are opened with a saber, as you can see in the picture.<\/span><\/p>\n<p lang=\"es-ES\" style=\"text-align: justify;\" align=\"LEFT\"><span lang=\"en-US\">What is the correct way to open a bottle of sparkling wine <\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">safe<\/span><span lang=\"es-ES\">ly<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">?<\/span><\/p>\n<p lang=\"es-ES\" style=\"text-align: justify;\" align=\"LEFT\"><span lang=\"en-US\">Step 1. Check the temperature of the bottle. It should be chilled or better cold prior to opening. The colder the better as this reduces the pressure in the bottle.<\/span><\/p>\n<p lang=\"es-ES\" style=\"text-align: justify;\" align=\"LEFT\"><span lang=\"en-US\">Step 2. Set the bottle on a table and remove the strip at the base of the foil capsule that covers the wire mesh that protects the cork.<\/span><\/p>\n<p lang=\"es-ES\" style=\"text-align: justify;\" align=\"LEFT\"><span lang=\"en-US\">Step 3. Place your thumb firmly over the top of wire and cork and then slowly undo the wire. At no time from this point on should you remove your thumb because if the sparkling wine has been shaken the pressure will have increased and the cork could explode and injure someone.<\/span><\/p>\n<p lang=\"es-ES\" style=\"text-align: justify;\" align=\"LEFT\"><span lang=\"en-US\">Step 4. Once loose, grip the top of the bottle with your hand, with <\/span><span lang=\"es-ES\">you<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\"> thumb on top of the wire\/cork. Hold the bottle at an <\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">angle of 30\u00ba<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">, more or less, ensuring the cork is not pointing at anyone or anything.<\/span><\/p>\n<p lang=\"es-ES\" style=\"text-align: justify;\" align=\"LEFT\"><span lang=\"en-US\">Step 5. Grip the cork firmly with one hand while the other gently <\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">turn<\/span><span lang=\"es-ES\">s<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\"> the base of the bottle. As the bottle turns the cork should start to move and the cork begins to slowly easy its way out of the bottle.<\/span><\/p>\n<p lang=\"es-ES\" style=\"text-align: justify;\" align=\"LEFT\"><span lang=\"en-US\">If the bottle is wet <\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">the<\/span><span lang=\"es-ES\">n<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\"> use a towel to give you a firmer grip. Please note that <\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">it <\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">can take quite a bit of strength to get the cork to move.<\/span><\/p>\n<p lang=\"es-ES\" style=\"text-align: justify;\" align=\"LEFT\"><span lang=\"en-US\">Step 6. The cork should come out of the bottle with a \u2018pfff\u2019 sound, not a bang. While no wine should escape it is a good idea to have a serviette or towel at hand just in case.<\/span><\/p>\n<p lang=\"es-ES\" style=\"text-align: justify;\" align=\"LEFT\"><span lang=\"en-US\">Step 7. To serve the sparkling wine, hold the bottle by the bottom, place the glass at an angle of 45\u00ba and slowly pour. This prevents the bubbles from spilling. <\/span><\/p>\n<p lang=\"es-ES\" style=\"text-align: justify;\" align=\"LEFT\"><span lang=\"en-US\">What is the correct glass to use for sparkling wine? The traditional flute shaped glass is popular with Champagne houses because it shows the strings of bubbles racing up the glass which is great for effect. However, if you want to properly smell the aromas prior to tasting I suggest that you use a tulip shaped glass suitable for white wine. <\/span><\/p>\n<p lang=\"es-ES\" style=\"text-align: justify;\" align=\"LEFT\"><span lang=\"en-US\">Finally, sparkling wines, Champagne, Cav<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">a<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\"> and <a href=\"https:\/\/thewineplace.es\/en\/tienda-vino\/fiabesco-prosecco-treviso-doc-nv\">Prosescco<\/a>, are not just for New Year and other celebrations. A good quality Champagne or Cava is one of the most versatile wines that can accompany every style of food because of the bubbles, natural acidity and intensity of flavours. <\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Do you know how to safely open Champagne or Cava?
